DIY Chevron Carrot Easter Art
Easter is just around the corner. We love to decorate with fun and inexpensive themed art. It’s especially fun when you can do it yourself! This is a fun and easy one that also looks great! Make your own super cute carrot art and help you home feel more festive!
You can change this up according to your own style too. If you’re not feeling the chevron pattern you could try stripes or polka dots too! We will use a chevron design in the background to create a classy feel to it. If you are in the mood for some art stuff, then this is the right time to make this. Let us start!
Step 1: Prepare all the materials needed for this activity:
♥ Red and blue acrylic paint
♥ Cardboard
♥ Paintbrushes
♥ Masking tape or paper tape
♥ Orange construction paper
♥ Scissors
♥ Green construction paper
♥ Gray construction paper
♥ Short pointed scissor
♥ Black pen
♥ Pencil
♥ White glue
Step 2: Make a series of chevron on the cardboard using a masking tape or paper tape.
Step 3: Paint the lower part of the board with blue acrylic paint.
Step 4: Paint the topmost part of the cardboard with red acrylic paint.
Step 5: Using both brushes, blend the blue in the bottom and the red on top in the middle of the cardboard to form a purple color. This should look like a color gradient from blue to red.
Step 6: Let the paint dry for an hour or two.
Step 7: While waiting for the paint to dry, cut the orange paper lengthwise into two equal parts. Sketch the body of the carrot using a pencil.
Step 8: Finalize the carrot body using a black pen.
Step 9: (chevron carrot photo 9) Cut the carrot body drawing.
Step 10: Sketch the top leaf of the two carrots using a pencil. Finalize the drawing using a black pen afterward.
Step 11: Cut the top leafs accordingly.
Step 12: Glue the top leafs on the body of the carrots.
Step 13: Glue the carrots on the grey paper. Let the white glue dry for a while.
Step 14: Cut the carrots but leave a small border from the grey paper, thus creating a 3D-ish effect.
Step 15: Once the paint dries from the board, remove the masking tape or paper tape carefully. You can now see the chevron on the board.
Step 16: Arrange the carrots on the chevron board based on your preference. Glue it on the board to permanently fix it.
Step 17: All Done! You now have your classy chevron carrot tabletop art.
Step 18: The Easter-inspired tabletop art is now ready for display.
You can make a bigger version of this if you prefer one. You can also make several carrots of different sizes to create a more complex tabletop art. This Easter chevron carrot art can also be converted as a wall art, if you wish to have a larger scale of this. Have fun customizing this! You can change the thickness of the chevrons or the colors! Anything is possible, as long as you use your wild imagination.
